Spending money

First of all, I have a new project! This scarf is very slowly progressing, but I won't need to wear it until september so that´s fine. I love the pattern (Field of flowers) and I love the yarn, a delicate one-ply wool.
Second, I have just ordered lots of yarn! My excuse is that I need one ball so that I can finish off Twist, and since the postage is the same no matter how much you order, this would be a very expensive yarn if I didn't order some more. Like 10 hanks of wonderful feltable 4-ply wool (bags, fuzzyfeet, wristwarmers), 100 grams superwash that later become a Hermione hat and some wool-alpaca mix that will make a hat for A.
Also, I am now subscribing to Interweave Knits Magazine. I am very excited to get the first issue.
I really can´t afford all this, but hey I´m bored and I have to do some comfort shopping... and what could be better than yarn and knitting mags... (actually shoes and handbags would do the trick also, but that is even more expensive).

Spring is here for good, and all of a sudden I have lots to do. I am working some, looking for a "real" job, helping A LOT with the student carnival and planning a wedding. Still, I have managed to start a new project. I'll show you pictures soon. I love this pattern, and I am planning to make a looooooooooong scarf to wear with the coat I am planning to buy next fall. I have been looking to find something to do with all my delicate one-ply wool for a while, and I am very happy with this project.

Not knitting and not thinking

I just realized, sitting down to write this post, that I put my contacts in the wrong eyes this morning. I mean, I put the one for the left eye in the right eye and the opposite way around. This explains my rather disoriented and groggy morning, and I feel quite stupid as I write...

Anyway, easter came and went. My fiancé and I went for a mini cruise between Copenhagen and Oslo with his parents and his sister. It was nice, Oslo is beautiful. I looked for yarn stores and find none, but that I wasn't too disappointed since I have no money. We had increadable weather though and we especially enjoyed the buffée on the boat that was super. I stuffed myself on shrimps, four kinds of salmon, fresh fruit and an amazing chocolate cake and felt very good about myself afterwards.

Entertaining the inlaws can be a bit exhausting at times though. They are very careful in everything they do, they are extreamely slow and they often feel embarressed. Even thought they have known me for years, they are still very quiet around me and sooner or later I always run out on topics. When they go somewhere, they wait around for each other all the time and they always expect me and A to make desicions for them. A also tends to pamper them, but at the same time he gets more and more frustrated with them and with their ways. They are very nice people, but it is very hard to have a fun time with them. And I did miss my own family.

Not much is happining with my knitting at the moment. I have started again on Twist, but since I don´t have enough yarn at home to finish, I'm ok with the slow pace. I am also on a yarn diet since we have absolutely no money to spare at the moment, so if I start any new projects it'll have to be with something in my stash. I have a lot of stuff there, I just need to let the projects come to me.

Now, off to meet a friend and prepare todays activities. We are cleaning a small empty house so that our student organisation can move in, and then we´ll have some beer. Fun fun!

As promised...

Spring cleaning!

I decided that my blog needed a makeover. After all it's spring time. And since I am a girl very much into her chocolate and coffee, here is the result. In the process, I lost the result bars for my WIP, but to be honest I found them somewhat a pain in the ass anyway. I was no good at updating them, and I don't need more things to give me guilty feelings.
I am almost done with my tank top, and I LOVE IT! It makes me a bit selfconcious about that tummy of mine, but since I am planning a little makeover on me as well, I hope it'll fit perfectly come summer. Pictures will appear as soon as it's all finished.
I am about to go to work, which makes me feel quite happy. It's no fun looking for a job full time, and a night now and then at this part time job makes me feel better about myself. The lutheran guilt - be productive or you´re nothing - is killing me some days.
Besides, I get to meet a lot of people that I know, they will be drunk and happy and I can knit as long as I can put it aside when anyone needs me. Yay!
